EPUB became an official standard of the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) in September 2007, superseding the older Open eBook standard.
EPUB is the format that eBooks need to be in to be able to be read on most readers include including iPad, iPhone, iPod, Sony Reader, BeBook, Nook & Kobo.
At this stage, EPUB is not used on Kindle who are trying to use their own format.
All of my eBooks are currently in PDF which can be read on all computers and, with a little effort, also uploaded to most other readers including iPad (using the Adobe Reader App). Alternatively, these PDF files can be converted to EPUB using a free converter(avaialble on-line). The PDF files can be printed and contain more information and, sometimes, pictures. All pictures and other added material is stripped from the EPUB version.
In fact, if you search “Carmenica Diaz” on Nook and iBookstore, you will find some books already and more books will be added day by day.
As the books are copied into EPUB, the EPUB icon will be added to that book in the bookshop. Please note, that it sometimes takes weeks before the EPUB book appears in either iBookstore or Nook after it appears in my bookshop via lulu. Therefore, you will be able to purchase EPUB editions here via lulu before it appears elsewhere.
Look for this symbol under the books in my Bookshop. If you click on this icon, you will be taken to lulu and be able to purchase an EPUB verison of that book to your iPad etc. The book will then appear in your bookstore App on iPad or in the nook section etc.
Most people will wish to continue to purchase the PDF books (as PDF contains much more information, can be printed, can be read on most readers including iPad with Adobe Reader App which is free and PDF looks better) and in that case, nothing changes. Simply use the Add to Cart button and download as normal.
It will take time to copy all my books into the EPUB format. All new books will be released in both formats and we will slowly copy all the others. If there is a certain book you would like to purchase in EPUB, use the Ask/Contact form to let me know and we’ll see what we can do.
